What’s the best way to overcome public speaking nerves?
bobo_doll asked:
I get very nervous when I get up to speak in front of others and I end up speaking very quickly and forgetting a lot of what I want to say. I dislike having to look at my notes every 5 secs and I often stutter on words and feel tongue-tied.

How can I relax, feel calm and improve my public speaking?
What are some good tips for public speaking?
Kathleen asked:
I can’t speak in front of people.
I get nervous, stutter, and even shake a bit. I avoid it when ever I can.
I’m a really outgoing person though, and I’m usually not afraid of much, and keep telling myself it’s fine, but I just can’t talk correctly or think straight.
Does anyone have any tips?

How do I overcome my fear of public speaking?
Tulip asked:
I have a presentation this week and just thinking about it makes me want to faint! I stutter, I go red, and I can’t present without reading off cue-cards no matter how much I have memorized it. I am usually not a quiet or introverted person, but I am presenting in front of a group of intellectuals who will slam me if I can’t answer one question. Help!
Should I say straight off the bat in the beginning of the presentation that I am dead nervous? Or not show my weaknesses?
