I had to give a small two line speech this past weekend to roughly 40 people. My insides started to grow hot as I waited my turn. My heartbeat was going a mile a minute and I started to take deep breaths.

I was about to faint once again but this time I tried to talk myself out of it. My face started to twitch and I thought I would go down to the floor. It was my turn finally and I blurted out what I needed to say as I tried to mask the ridiculous facial expression that the nerves in my face were causing.

I dry heaved three times before I realized that I was going to throw up. I exited through the back door and throw up in an available trash can. TWICE

I need to shake this fear that I have had since high school…any suggestions? The “visualize” a naked person is not going to cut it.

Hi, I’m not an extremely shy person but I have a speech to give to my class on Thursday and I am extremely bad at public speaking. My voice gets dry and I say things wrong, my legs SHAKE, my hands sweat (that’s a whole other problem…really bad sweaty hands.), my face gets red…….please please please please please help me get over this!

Can a 1/8 cup from the Nyquil cup calm a person enough for public speaking? Like can it act as xanax in a way so that a person will not be nervous while giving a speech?

I am a college sophomore studying Public Relations and although I consider myself an excellent writer, an outgoing person and extremely creative, I am not the best public speaker. I know those in P.R. are often required to address the press but is having a fear a public speaking enough of a reason to change my career path? I’m articulate but I have the hardest time not sounding like a fumbling mess when adressing a crowd. THANKS!

Ok so I was thinking about what kind of career I want. And I was thinking about being a public speaker. I would like to be someone who travels to high schools and places like that. To teach young kids about abstance and STD’s and things like that. Because teenagers are going to have sex no matter what you tell them. And I just want to help by giving them information about what they are doing. Is there any college to that? Or schooling outside of high school to do this? Please let me know is you can. Thank you.
