Back Door Deep Breaths Face Facial Expression Facial Nerves Fear Heartbeat Hot Mask Mile A Minute Naked Person Public Speaking Three Times Trash
SavedByGrace asked: I had to give a small two line speech this past weekend to roughly 40 people. My insides started to grow hot as I waited my turn. My heartbeat was going a mile a minute and I started to take deep breaths.
I was about to faint once again but this time I tried to talk myself out of it. My face started to twitch and I thought I would go down to the floor. It was my turn finally and I blurted out what I needed to say as I tried to mask the ridiculous facial expression that the nerves in my face were causing.
I dry heaved three times before I realized that I was going to throw up. I exited through the back door and throw up in an available trash can. TWICE
I need to shake this fear that I have had since high school…any suggestions? The “visualize” a naked person is not going to cut it.

Career Path College Sophomore Crowd Fear Hardest Time Outgoing Person Public Relations Public Speaker Public Speaking Reason
Leah S asked:
I am a college sophomore studying Public Relations and although I consider myself an excellent writer, an outgoing person and extremely creative, I am not the best public speaker. I know those in P.R. are often required to address the press but is having a fear a public speaking enough of a reason to change my career path? I’m articulate but I have the hardest time not sounding like a fumbling mess when adressing a crowd. THANKS!

I memorized what I need to say, my problem is when I stand infront of people to give a speach I choke up, my chest gets stiff and I can’t breath. I can’t walk around or hold any thing and I’m afraid I might forget my next line. What are some good tricks to help deal with this?

10 Years Audience Fear Hunting Personal Experience Public Speaking Reason Toastmasters Club
yubi asked: Ever since I moved to the US, I’ve had a tremendous fear of public speaking. Almost 10 years later, this fear is still hunting me–shaping my life as I try to avoid it.
I’m a member of a local Toastmasters club. The practice does help. But for some reason, the fear is still there. Since I started, I’ve become so accustomed to the audience there, that it stopped being a challenge. However, every time I even think about speaking at work, my hands would sweat.
I know how important it is for my future to reduce the fear.
However, there are so many methods out there that I’m just confused at this point as to which one I should try. If you have personal experience in this area, please let me know what is the best way to reduce this fear. Thank you
