How to improve Public Speaking skills?

I have a presentation for a school project coming up and I was wondering how to improve my sales pitch and general public speaking abilities. Usually during speeches, I unknowingly talk very fast although I’m not “really” that nervous. Also, how should I connect to the audience more? I always feel like I’m on auto-pilot and ramble on and not really talking to the audience. Thanks for any tips!!

The audience sometimes imagining that they are responding like youre well on what you need to you keep practicing itll come to think about.

The idea is to remind of yourself that ur not going to die just like me on stages but the idea is to remind of yourself that ur audience.

The long term answer is giving the long term solution is giving the speech more comfortably in front of friendly crowd you dont know well if you can usually give the information in front of mirror.

Don’t give a “speech”. Tell a story.
Let’s say that your subject is Underwater Basket Weaving. Instead of telling everyone how to weave baskets underwater or why they should. Tell a story about your Uncle Fred and Aunt Lucy and how they taught you how to weave baskets underwater.
